Dots To Lines...

This is my recent finish (and first!) graphic design work for The University of Texas at El Paso Union Gallery. Dots to Lines is a new exhibit opening on March 25th through April 7th, featuring artworks from the Art Foundation Drawing Classes. I focused mostly on keeping it simple and following the concept of the title...we all start  creating a dot to make a line, and by drawing a line, we create start on creating anything

Poster: 11x17 in.
Software: Adobe Illustrator

Following the poster, I also designed a postcard that were delivered and passed out throughout campus.

Colores Del Alma (Colors of the Soul)

El Paso Artist Erica Contreras's Colores Del Alma (Colors of the Soul) Exhibition opened the semester with it's wonderful oil on canvas paintings at the Union Gallery at the University of Texas at El Paso.

The work of El Paso artists often challenges the mere perspective on how they interact their creativity on a canvas. Erica Contrera's work are extraordinary in a way that her medium is oil on canvas, but also her technique on using this medium and the excellent use of color.

I personally love all of her works, but not only do I love the perspective of them, but how she used her unique technique on producing these paintings. Each brush strokes shows Erica's personality, and the colors blossoms her vision and creativity of each image. I've met Erica personally before the exhibition, and she is full of life and laughter! It is wonderful to meet local artists, especially new artists who are blooming their artistic talents and creativity. I do hope that next fall or spring semester she could come back to open another successful exhibition in the Union.

For those who still want to come to the exhibition, it'll be up for another week, UTEP Building East (2nd floor). The last day would be on February 25th, 2013.

365 Day Project on HOLD

Hey guys, I'm sorry to say that I won't be able to complete my 365 day challenge. Even though I only did one month, it is rather difficult to keep on it when there's a lot of events occurring. I never knew that things will be tough during these days, but with work and school, and homework and projects, I don't even have time for myself as much as I used to.

However, I will continue posting up several stuff here, random photographs of random stuff, and more work in progress and final projects here in my blog. I won't be able to do it everyday, but for sure once a week.

---------

So anyways, recent news!
There's going to be an opening show in Union Gallery at University of Texas at El Paso, starring on wonderful paintings from a friend of mine! How exciting! Someday, I'll probably have something like that in the near future!

Anyways, I'm now in first semester of basic Graphic Design classes, one class is based on using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign; while the second class is all traditional Graphic Design. I do hope I get them posted here for any feedback from anyone!
