R3: "Re-Create, Re-Think, Re-Discover"

The UTEP Union Gallery gladly presents our next gallery exhibit, R3! It's been rather fun, and kinda hard, to create a new logo to represent the exhibit, much like the Dots to Lines exhibition.

Again, I tried keeping it simple, and thanks to Mariana Rivera for all the help!

Size: 6x4 in.
Software: Adobe Illustrator

You could also find all the exhibits presented at the union gallery at http://sa.utep.edu/union/gallery/

Earth Week Design

For a week I've been working on a new design for the next exhibit after Dots to Lines exhibit is over. This new exhibit will feature the theme of Earth Week, how artist "re-create, re-think, and re-discover" through their artwork. The exhibit will feature photographs, sculptures, paintings, etc. I can't wait until the exhibit opens!

Colores Del Alma (Colors of the Soul)

El Paso Artist Erica Contreras's Colores Del Alma (Colors of the Soul) Exhibition opened the semester with it's wonderful oil on canvas paintings at the Union Gallery at the University of Texas at El Paso.

The work of El Paso artists often challenges the mere perspective on how they interact their creativity on a canvas. Erica Contrera's work are extraordinary in a way that her medium is oil on canvas, but also her technique on using this medium and the excellent use of color.

I personally love all of her works, but not only do I love the perspective of them, but how she used her unique technique on producing these paintings. Each brush strokes shows Erica's personality, and the colors blossoms her vision and creativity of each image. I've met Erica personally before the exhibition, and she is full of life and laughter! It is wonderful to meet local artists, especially new artists who are blooming their artistic talents and creativity. I do hope that next fall or spring semester she could come back to open another successful exhibition in the Union.

For those who still want to come to the exhibition, it'll be up for another week, UTEP Building East (2nd floor). The last day would be on February 25th, 2013.
