R3: "Re-Create, Re-Think, Re-Discover"

The UTEP Union Gallery gladly presents our next gallery exhibit, R3! It's been rather fun, and kinda hard, to create a new logo to represent the exhibit, much like the Dots to Lines exhibition.

Again, I tried keeping it simple, and thanks to Mariana Rivera for all the help!

Software: Adobe Illustrator

You could also find all the exhibits presented at the union gallery at http://sa.utep.edu/union/gallery/

New Tumblr Art Page

Hi guys. I finally decided to make a new Tumblr page, but this time, only my art related. Since I keep on re-blogging  re-blogging  re-blogging stuff, my art disappeared with all the fandom and other fan stuff.
Here’s the new link if you want to follow my art!
Just a reminder, this new Tumblr page will only feature my art, with a small description. If you want to see WIP or my inner thought of the piece, you could follow me on my Facebook page and in my sketch-blog!

Earth Week Design

For a week I've been working on a new design for the next exhibit after Dots to Lines exhibit is over. This new exhibit will feature the theme of Earth Week, how artist "re-create, re-think, and re-discover" through their artwork. The exhibit will feature photographs, sculptures, paintings, etc. I can't wait until the exhibit opens!

Didn't Make It...

Last Thursday I had the guts to enter four of my works I've done in the past semester, including one that I've done this month, to the 2013 Annual Juried UTEP Student Art Exhibition

Works I Submitted: Veva (Myself at 3), Fatima (At age 3), Blossom (Fatima at the Present), and Own Beauty

The jurors were Julio César Morales (Fine Arts Juror) and Matthew Bouloutian (Graphic Design Juror), who judged all the submissions UTEP student artists had submitted. To tell you the truth, I was pretty nervous. But I was also expecting at least one of my works to enter.

Unfortunately, when I went the next day to see the list of names of accepted entries, neither of my works made it.

Oh well, maybe next year, I"ll try again. And maybe next time, I'll also turn in graphic design works as well. Thanks to all who supported me and giving me a pat in the back, even though I didn't make it this year! :D

Own Beauty

“Sometimes people are beautiful.
Not in looks.

Not in what they say.
Just in what they are.”
― Markus Zusak, I am the Messenger

Its been a while since I've done watercolor painting, my last one was last december when I've done my final project for my art foundation class.

This painting will be a gift for one of my co-workers who is graduating this coming May.

Watercolor, pencil, pen, pastel on 11x14in canvas.

Dots To Lines...

This is my recent finish (and first!) graphic design work for The University of Texas at El Paso Union Gallery. Dots to Lines is a new exhibit opening on March 25th through April 7th, featuring artworks from the Art Foundation Drawing Classes. I focused mostly on keeping it simple and following the concept of the title...we all start  creating a dot to make a line, and by drawing a line, we create start on creating anything

Poster: 11x17 in.
Software: Adobe Illustrator

Following the poster, I also designed a postcard that were delivered and passed out throughout campus.

This is also an invitation to anyone at UTEP and El Paso to come and check these marvelous pieces of artwork from the Art Foundation Drawing Classes starting on March 25th through April 7th, 2013. Closing Reception on April 4th, 2013 from 6pm-8pm.
